We hope that you will try some Scouting activities that are new to you.
To encourage all sections to have a go at Adventurous Activities.
To encourage further attendance next year.
To set the scene for a brief Scouts Own when all Sections will renew their promises.

A First Aid Course is arranged for early 2019. The course will meet the requirements of the UK Scout Association and provide a qualification for three years.

When :- Sunday 20th Jan 2019
Time :- 09.45 for 10.00 start and a finish of 16.00 to 16.30
Where :- 2nd Kirkham (St-Michael’s) Scout Hut
Cost for adult members of Fylde District / West Lancashire Scouts is £36 per head (payment by cheque to 2nd Kirkham (St-Michael’s) Scout Group).
Places:- A number of places have been reserved for 2nd Kirkham Scout Group as a priority, then as available.

Fylde District is planning to run a climbing course for Explorers and Adult members with the following objectives:-

To get artificial wall top rope climbing permits for all attendees.
To complete the requirements of the Climber Activity Badge for all Explorer Scouts.
To introduce all attendees to climbing on real crags and/or quarries.
To satisfy the requirements for Bronze DofE Physical for those Explorers who are interested.

The course will run in 2 blocks of nominally 6 weeks each.

What? The 24th World Scout Jamboree will be an adventure beyond anything you can imagine. It is to be hosted jointly between Boy Scouts of America, Scouts Canada, and the Scout Association of Mexico.
When & Where? The Jamboree will take place on 22nd July – 2nd August 2019 at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.

As you know our Activity Centre is a fantastic resource for all sections across the Fylde district and beyond to enjoy evening sessions, weekend nights away, and week long adventures during school holidays. However, while these times get booked up well in advance, the Activity Centre is underused during term time weekdays. This is an opportunity to bring in additional funds that will enable us to keep the cost of the facility to scouting to a minimum, and hopefully set aside funds for unforeseen circumstances & future development.
