Baden-Powell chose Saint George to be The Patron Saint of The Scout Association. He felt that the Saint George of legend set a good example of faith, courage and perseverance.

Fylde District has chosen to part with tradition and celebrate St-George’s Day 2014 and the renewal of our Promise at our own District HQ in St-Anne’s. The afternoon will consist of a Scouts Own, presentation of Awards and some basic Scouting activities that all of our members can get involved in.

Order of Events (Sunday 27th April 2014)
2.30pm Arrive & make your way onto the main field & find your Group / Unit Leaders & tell them you have arrived.

The St-George’s day afternoon will brings young people from across Fylde District together to celebrate the day. There will be opportunities to take part in some basic Scouting activities on the main field with others from across the district. During the afternoon will also be holding A Scouts Own which will include renewal of the Scout Promise and Presentation by the District Commissioner (Mike Smith).

4pm Groups / Units make their way home, please tell your leaders you are leaving when collected by your parents / guardians.

Parking is limited so we would like to encourage lift sharing if possible and for all members to park locally and considerately (not to block any roads) and walk their sons / daughters onto the main field. Please take care when crossing roads.
All members of scouting are to wear their Full Smart uniforms.
We plan to run the afternoon outside weather permitting, please dress appropriately.
Many Thanks
