Cub Scouts

WHAT IS CUBS?

Cubs is the second section of the scouting movement,
originally started in 1916 for the younger brothers
of scouts.  in nearly a century, the section has constantly evolved and adapted its program and methods
to meet the changing needs of each generation
of young people and  today cubs admit both
boys and girls, between the ages of 8 & 10 1/2.

WHAT WILL I DO?

During your time as a cub you will get the chance to try lots of different activities some will be new to you there is a large set of badges that you can earn as a cub scout that can be worn on your uniform to show others how well you are doing.

Badges are split up in to 3 sections.

Activity Badges

These allow cub scouts to show their progress in existing pursuits, and to encourage them to try new ones.

Challenge awards

These involve accomplishing a number of more ambitious tasks with in the pack and the community.

Core badges

In addition, there are a number of special badges that you obtain for joining the movement or moving from one section to another. Core badges are also awarded for the time spent in the movement.

What will I wear?

Cubs wear a dark green sweatshirt with a group necker and a woggle in the colour of their six.
